Changes to Land Title Surveys Minimum Standards

Surveys using the Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys are relied on by title insurance companies to issue ALTA policies and by the real estate industry to obtain the most reliable survey information.  Effective February 23, 2021 there will be revised ALTA/NSPS Standards.  Last updated in 2016, the 2021 revisions will address a number of issues, the primary ones of which relate to the depiction of easements, utilities and wetlands, the survey summary, certain terminology and the negotiation of documents.
