The principal of our firm, Norma J. Williams, has been a commercial real estate attorney for her entire career, and is well-known in the national legal community. She is known for being rigorously current on commercial real estate law and is a frequent speaker on the topic and has published over fifty articles.

Ms. Williams chaired a blue-ribbon committee of the California State Bar Real Property Section in a three-year effort to re-draft California’s assignment of rents law (Civil Code Section 2938), addressing rights in commercial real estate rents. The law was used as the model for the national Uniform Assignment of Rents Act, in whose drafting Ms. Williams also participated. She also authored legislation on leasehold financing amending the California Civil and Civil Procedure Codes.

Ms. Williams received the Outstanding Real Estate Lawyer Award from the Real Property Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association in 2023. She received the inaugural Excellence in Practice Award given by the California Lawyer's Association's Solo and Small Firms Section in June, 2019 and was honored in September 2016 for her entrepreneurial skills by organizations including the U.S. Small Business Administration. She was selected by Commercial Real Estate Women-Los Angeles as one of their “Women At The Top” in 2011. Her other accomplishments include Chair of the Real Property Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and membership on the Board of Regents of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys, where she is currently the California State Chair. She has been selected by Los Angeles Magazine as a Southern California Super Lawyer each year from 2006-2023.
